Greetings, leaders
Laura V. here. I’m here to help you write and produce all that content you wish you had time to create but don’t.
I’m 15+ years into my career in content strategy and creative production for Bay Area technology companies with the same amount of energy invested in publishing my poetry and creative nonfiction essays.
I’ve found these two worlds to be undeniably synergistic. Being a poet working within contained spaces has trained me in brevity that comes in handy for corporate messaging and articulating perspective with precision. And writing and leading creative production of editorial and video content for technology companies has taught me how to treat my moonlit creative writing career as its own product deserving of relentless project management.
My roles have long lived at the intersection of creative output, communications, and public relations-forward writing – mostly thought leadership content that articulates industry expertise and builds trust with customers, investors, and team members.
I’ve been a copywriter on creative teams, a content strategist on brand marketing teams, the designated writer and editor on a PR team, and the content director at a leading Silicon Valley venture capital firm.
Most of my work for startups has focused on consumer brands, but I’ve written for software companies as well. My tried-and-true north star today is working directly with executive teams and those in leadership positions to amplify their expertise and turn what they know into useful insights.
My client work has been published in Fast Company, Inc. Magazine, Forbes, The Startup, SaaStr, Copywriter Collective, Parent Co., Mother Mag, various brand blogs and newsletters, and many more online and print publications.
I take on clients by referral only and will share sample work upon request. Here’s my LinkedIn if you’d like to see where I’ve worked. Many of my previous freelance clients are not listed out of respect for the co-writing nature of the work we’ve published together. Contact me here with questions or general inquiry.
Looking forward to learning more about you – and what parts of your work bring synchronistic joy to your voice and benefits to your key audiences.
Laura V.
P.S. While I am by far not AI-generated, my headshot here is. Ask me about the tool I used to create it. Best $40 I’ve spent, and it looks just like me — on my best hair day.
