Poetry & stories about triumphant family love

Hey! I’m Laura. I write poems about my experience as a mom and daughter, essays rooted in the quest for finding meaning in challenging family dynamics, and stories from my journey as kid in a redbrick house on Peachtree Drive in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to my current life as writer and family anchor in the San Francisco Bay Area.

My work explores belonging, uncomfortable yet triumphant growth, home as body and body as home, and the cradle of the nuclear family.

Thanks for being here. I see you and hope you find a reflection of yourself — and maybe even some comfort — in my writing too, whether you’re a parent yourself or hold the stories of being parented in a tight hold at your heart with ferocious memory.
